Why Fishing Nets ?

If you read my story you know how much i LOVE the Oceans and Seas, so at my level i try to contribute by choosing recycled fabrics and avoiding plastic.

453 tons of fishing nets collected from 2013-2018 = the weight of 3 blue whales.

1. Collect

Using all type of plastic waste not used by factories.

Left over of Nylon from factories and mostly fishing net collected in Oceans and Seas.

2.Cleaning and transform

All waste collected from around the world are going to Slovenia.

Nylon waste is cleaned, shredded, compacted and sent to the Econyl® regeneration plant.

3.Depolymerization

This process makes it possible to return to the state of raw material, eliminating all foreign substances for a 100% virgin quality. It is therefore not a matter of conventional recycling, but rather of regeneration, this system restores nylon waste to its original form as raw material.

46% of ocean waste are fishing nets, each fishing boat leave behind around 30km of net for each trip. Info from ocean Cleanup Foundation.

4 Transformation

They produce 2 kind of yarn. One for carpets.. And One for textiles.

5 Commercialisation

Now we can use it to make our collection …
